CIL Announces Two New Directors and Four Associate Directors
CIL is pleased to announce a series of promotions, recognising the growth, expertise, and contribution of individuals across the business.
Two new Directors have been announced – James Cavanagh and Mike Hallett.
James Cavanagh has been promoted to Director in the Business Services practice. James first joined CIL in 2017, briefly explored opportunities elsewhere in private equity and a VC-backed business, before returning in 2023. His breadth of experience has been invaluable to CIL. James has developed deep subsector expertise, particularly in property and energy broking, delivering successful projects across these areas.
Mike Hallett has been promoted to Director in the Technology practice. He has worked on 100+ tech businesses in the decade he has been with CIL, developing a strong capability across the sector with a specialism in communications services and enterprise software.
Four new Associate Directors have also been announced.
Jack Turner joined CIL as an Analyst in 2018 and became part of the Consumer practice during the post-Covid period. He has since become a key member of the team, developing deep expertise in holiday parks, marinas, and gyms. While he will continue to support the wider Consumer practice, Jack will now focus on growing the Leisure & Hospitality vertical.
Ed Selman joined CIL as an Analyst in 2018, having also interned with the firm in 2017. Ed has played an important role in the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, working across a range of sub-sectors. He has built particular expertise in life sciences, which is well aligned with CIL’s international growth ambitions.
James Howard joined CIL as a Manager in 2022 and has been an integral part of the global Industrials practice since then. He brought significant sector experience from his previous consulting role and now covers a range of sub-sectors, including being CIL’s expert in flow control. Earlier this year, James began a 12-month secondment in CIL’s Chicago office, supporting the growth of the Industrials practice in North America.
Matt Evans joined CIL in 2018 and is a key member of the Technology practice, as well as leading CIL’s in-house Economics team. Matt has developed expertise in IT managed services and consulting businesses across the UK and Europe. He has also played a leading role in advancing CIL’s VCS project offering and strengthening corporate relationships.
Jon Whiteman, Managing Partner at CIL, said: “It’s fantastic to announce these six well-deserved promotions, which reflect the talent, expertise, and dedication these individuals bring to the business. Their contributions have made a real difference to CIL’s growth and success, and I look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in their careers at CIL.
